Hi my fellow book lovers!

I finally got around to reading Six of Crows and I....have mixed feelings. I know that a lot of people loved it, and there were definitely aspects of it that I enjoyed, but I think this was definitely a over hyped book.

What I liked? : What I loved the most about this book was the characters, the plot for me was dry and pointless but the characters kept me going! They are so awesome, and are literal squad goals.

What I did not like?: The worst feeling is reading a book and having no idea whats going on. This book was all over the place, it didn't - in my opinion, have a proper purpose. The plot was so boring - thank God for those characters, I wont be reading another one of her books in the near future.

I also didn't like the inconsistency towards the end of the book. She presents Inej - one of the main female characters, as a person who relies on herself and is strong both mentally and physically. Then she presents Kaz - the main character and her love interest, as equally strong and very aware that inej is this amazing person that doesn't need him to thrive....then the book goes back on that and he claims her as 'his woman' and suddenly he has feelings...there wasn't a build up.

The relationship between Kaz and Inej feels like it should remain platonic, and I think Leigh added romantic elements because they were the only unpaired couple left. Let them remain bloody unpaired!!

I therefore gave this book a rating of...

3 stars out of 5

Maybe fantasy isn't for me.
