Summer Adventure : Day 6, 7 &8

Day 6, 7&8 - 24/06/15 ~ 26/06/15

For days 6, 7 and 8 I was in the process of an induction for a sixth form that I may go to for year 12.

An induction day is a day where a student can experience the day in the life of a student at that school. I will not elaborate too much on the day as it was boring just lessons, not much else happening. Long story short, I got reams and reams of summer homework.

- Which I am not so secretly excited to complete -

However on day 7 I went out and bought my graduation dress and shoes, and on day 8 I purchased my prom make up.

I will be detailing my full graduation and prom on a different post so stay tuned! But overall my 3 day adventure at a school I could possibly attend next year wasn't too bad.

Summer Adventure : Day 5

Day 5 - 23/06/15

On day 5 I did my hair in a salon and dyed it all in preparation for prom! Here is a picture below.

It took so long to do this, I spent roughly 6 hours in the salon - which isn't unusual when doing traditional African hairstyles or even dying your hair.

I really like the results of this look because it's edgier and more risky than my previous hairstyles which usually involve using my natural hair colour - although once I did dye the tips pink for a while.

I'll hopefully post a blog post elaborating on how I achieved this - what types of dye and extensions.

Summer Adventure : Day 4

Day 4 - 22/06/15

On day 4 I ventured into the world of 'How to build a girl' A book I picked up a few weeks ago that was on the best selling rack due to its obvious popularity. Myself and my friend both purchased the book and decided to have a read-a-thon...sadly she finished before me and I have only just reached half way....so the adventure aspect of Monday was pretty slow. I will be posting a review on the books I have read, and hopefully this will make an appearance!

Summer Adventure : Days 1, 2 & 3

Sorry for the delay on this post, I have had a 3 day induction this week which has taken both my time and energy as well as a prom and graduation which I am so unprepared for!

Day 1 - 19/06/15

I'm not sure if I have ever discussed this before in any of my previous posts but I am the head of prom committee...

So on day 1 of my 'summer adventure' I was out at the hotel that my prom will be held at sorting out final details and just ensuring that everyone has a brilliant time!

I think that this hotels layout is amazing so I thought that I would share some picture of the hotel with you to show case how awesome it really is! (Crediting the head girl of my school for all the photography you see here of this hotel)

This is the reception area for the hotel where you can sit and chill.

This is one of the rooms we will be using for our prom

Another room we will be using

The outside area we will be using

Overall, I like the hotel for the peaceful vibe it gives off and how classy they have made it. Perfect for a prom or any other 'predigest' event.

Day 2 - 20/06/15

On the second day of my adventure, I went out with 2 of my friends. We went around town getting prom accessories, eating and celebrating a festival that happened to also occur during our visit which highlighted my towns history.

Here are some pictures that highlight my day! (credit to my friend Sarah who took a majority of these pictures on our day out!)

I went to the 'aqua zoo' in town because I love fish, we get along so well although it may or may not be an unrequited friendship.

Me and my 'besties'

These are a diverse range of fish, so beautiful.

This is sarah getting her eyebrows done....which I may need to do sometime before prom...

This is a cool music store we visited that sell a range of instruments. My plan is to buy the cello.

ditto :)

We also went to superdrug to try for the millienth time to get me into make up, but my mind was on the books - as it should be!

Day 3 - 21/06/15

On day 3 of my summer adventure I went to my friends 16th birthday! here are some pictures - taken all by me, of my time there. Due to privacy reasons There aren't as many pictures in this post as I wouldn't want to include someone in the post that didn't want to be seen!

Shout out to my friend Raquel whose 16th birthday was actually last week but due to GCSE's couldn't celebrate it on the day. :)

Hope you enjoyed this post! I hope to be posting the rest of my week sometime this week!

Summer Blog Posts

I'm finally done with all my exams which means that I will have a lot more time to blog about what I am up to this summer!

I finished my final exam on the 18th of June which was statistics - which was okay in my opinion but we'll see when results day hits me.

Since then I have been out everyday doing different things that I found interesting or exciting that I will update you on pretty soon. Since today is Sunday, I will have to share the last 3 days all in one blog post - which will be my next post....I think...probably.

But this blog post is mostly to tell you what you can expect to see in up coming blog posts!

This week I have graduation and prom and I hope to share my looks for both of these occasions as well as my friends looks.

I will hopefully be doing a book haul sometime soon where I share the books I have bought recently.

I will be uploading a post on my top book series for summer.

I will be sharing my GCSE results with an update on my a level subjects - which may change.

I will be sharing significant things I have done from now until the 31st of August.

I will be updating you all on books I am currently reading, loving and hating.

These are just some of the things I hope to achieve this summer, so I hope you stick around and enjoy?

Summer Reads! : Stand alones

If you couldn't tell from my 25 facts about me, I love books - a lot, and I thought 'hey, why not spread my book joy and love to you readers of my blog'.

so here are some stand alone books I recommend that you check out this summer! - spoiler free.

landline is a novel by Rainbow Rowell that I read last summer whilst on a week holiday with my mum, and I loved it! I have read all of her published books and I am in love with her characters and style of writing.
This happens to be my favourite book that she has published, because the characters are so relatable despite the fact that they are almost 30 years older than me - I always feel like i'm mentally older. My favourite character is the protagonists husband, he is so sweet and I find myself seeing flashes of myself inside of him - just the way he interacts socially and other aspects that if you read you will notice.

We Were Liars is a book written by the author e. lockhart, and was an extremely popular read around this time last year. I missed the hype and read it in August rather than June, and I loved it! This is a book that you have to go into not knowing anything, which is what myself and many of my friends did when reading this.
Also give this book a chance, the writing style is unique and at first confusing due to the metaphors that you will come to appreciate as you read on....and that's all I am going to say about this novel.

These two books are by the author Holly Bourne - one of my favourite if not my favourite contemporary authors, who writes books that I find so entertaining and relatable!
Her books are set in London for instance, making it instantly relatable, and her characters are my age. I love the story lines in both of these books and how unique they both are.
The titles may give the impression of a typical novel on love for example - shown in the title 'soulmates', but it is very beautifully twisted versions of what we usually expect from these novels.

I read 'The manifesto on how to be interesting' In under 5 hours sometime during the night when I should have been sleeping. Its a book you cannot put down.

Soulmates was perfect, loved it, prepare yourself though for what will happen....

Eleanor and Park is a novel by Rainbow Rowell - who I mentioned above, who is one of my favourite contemporary authors. Her books have made me cry, every single one of them. I won't spoil this too much but I hear that this is a majority of peoples favourite book out of her published ones so I think that if you are a fan of contemporary novels that are well written and aren't typical, her books are highly recommended.

This is one of my favourite novels ever - currently on loan to my friend who loves it, by one of my favourite authors - John Corey Whaley.
This novel is not sad at all, despite what is said on the first page, it is purely humour through out.
This novel made me laugh alot cry a lot and made the people around me want a part of this action too, so this was a birthday present to most of my family members.

READ IT, you wont regret it.

This is one of my favourite novels currently, as I recently read it and loved every word. I recommend this to people obsessed with Greek mythology or those that don't know that much about it, because whoever you are, you will love this - unless you are a homophobe then your loss. I was told about this book by my friend Gee - hey Gee!, who has really good taste in novels so I listened to his opinion and read it.

......................................................

There are so many Novels out there that i love, but these are a small portion of my favourite's that I think will make your summer action packed - not literally, but it will feel that way!

I will be making a Summer reads series blog post recommending book series's that I think are awesome so watch out for that post, and I hope you enjoyed this one.
